One thing that nearly all old photos lack is contrast. Darkening the blacks, brightening the whites and enhancing the contrast overall does so much to add life back to an old image. The most devastating damage to the image was the rip that cuts through the woman’s chin and was actually an easy fix. Because all details are important, cleaning up the vertical striations dust and scratches is a subtle fix but does a lot to transform this portrait into a printable version.
